A word from Art Addie...

My wife, Barbara, and I officially entered the business world in 1980 as AJA Construction. It was a construction firm offering a variety of services and products to the homeowners in the area. We installed roofing, siding, windows and doors, as well as additions and major alterations. The company was founded on a basic philosophy, "Give people what they want at a price they can afford." Combine that with our commitment to customer satisfaction and you have a winning combination.

In 1982, we purchased a boarded-up hardware store in Asbury Park. The store was renovated and re-opened as Asbury Hardware and Home Improvement Center, featuring general hardware as well as window sales and repair. Business was good and the company grew.

In 1996, the decision was made to manufacture our own line of vinyl replacement windows. This venture started in a two-car garage in the back of the hardware store. The company steadily grew to the point where we liquidated the hardware store and used the entire 3,000 square feet for building windows. The name was changed to Asbury Window Factory, better reflecting the character of our company.

In 1998, we outgrew this space and set out to find a better location. We wanted to be on Asbury Avenue in Asbury Park. God blessed us with just that, a 10,000 square foot building in need of total renovation.  This was right up our alley, so we purchased the building. The renovation lasted about three months. We moved in on November 1, 1998.

We decided to name our wholesale distribution center Windows To Go. The name Windows To Go means that we carry in stock energy-efficient windows and doors to the public in over fifty different sizes that are available immediately. This truly means that our windows and doors are to-go or we will deliver to your job site. Our buying power allows you to custom order any size window for pick up or delivery in under two weeks.

In May 2007 we obtained our second location for better visibility and access for our customers on Route 35 in Ocean Township (across from Wegmans market). At this time we expanded our business to include window treatments. This allows you to work with the same people you can trust, offering a “soup to nuts” treatment. This location has a huge showroom and warehouse. Contractors, subcontractors and builders often bring their customers into our showroom to show them products.

Now after thirty years we have two great facilities and have become the window and door authority and a price leader in the industry. We are not going anywhere, we are not a guy with a truck and we don’t have a post office box.  We have selected the best quality brands at the best prices including Pella, Silverline by Anderson, and Plygem Windows and Doors to name a few.

We have the capacity to handle any size job. Some of our larger installation projects include the Diplomat Apartments in Long Branch, the Galleria Shops in Red Bank, Asbury Park City Hall, Shore Club Condos in Bradley Beach, and Valley Forge Christian College. Whether you need us to completely install windows or doors in your home or to provide wholesale windows and doors so you can do it yourself, we are the right company for the job.

With all of the growth and change that this company has gone through, there is one thing that will never change: we still give people what they want at a price they can afford. Our commitment to customer satisfaction has grown even stronger. We are totally dedicated to your satisfaction.

A word from Barbara Addie...

For 33 years, my husband and I have been in the building industry. We started as AJA Construction in 1978, doing everything from kitchen and bath renovations to building additions. My skills at that time were providing materials and keeping the books. Over time, my husband's skills rubbed off on me. Before I knew it, I helped with framing, speckling, and became very good at finishing work, including painting and woodworking. Once I spent the day cutting siding in the snow!
In 1982, we opened Asbury Hardware on Asbury Avenue in Asbury Park. In 1996, we started building and installing our own windows. We grew and are now a major local distributor and installer of windows, doors, and window treatments.
We've had the same phone number for 33 years in Asbury Park.
